In My Distress

In My Distress

Written by Shawn Williams
In my distress I must pray to the Lord

The Lord cried unto me and answered my prayers

They hate for those who hated me I destroyed all in the name of the Lord

They hurt for those who hurting me I destroyed all in the name of the Lord

They cursed for those who cursing me I destroyed all in the name of the Lord

They criticize for those who criticizing me I destroyed all in the name of the Lord

They swarmed around me like bees

They punished me like weapons

But I destroyed all in the name of the Lord
I was lied on

I was talked about

I was misunderstood

I was down and out

I was mistreat

I was misused

But I still destroyed all in the name of the Lord

On my right hand, I got spirit

On my left hand, I got faith

On my eyes, I got focus

On my mouth, I speak life

On my ears, I hear their cry

The Lord is my strength and my song

To became my victory

God Will See Us Through It

God Will See Us Through It.

God Will See Us Through It

God Will See Us Through It
(A Dedication to Patricia Williams-Perdue & Annie Perdue)
By Shawn Williams

Imagine what we go through
Reflect our memories to remembering
God sustain us to comfort through the pain
Tears falling down like rain
That’s how we got over
The troubles of life weighs down
Friends turning backs on us
Through the guilt of the past
Through the hurt of the present
Through the trials and tribulations of our own

God also feels our pain…sees our tears…heals our hearts…baptize our souls
God will always see us through it
We come through the fire
We come through the flood
We come through the wind
And we come through the pain
Our past has forgiven
Our present has making sense
Our future has anointed
God will never ever put more on us than we can bear

God will see us through it
Because we souled out
That’s why God favored us
We survived it all
We been through it all
He’s still able
God still feels our pain…sees our tears…
But we’re never ever would have made it without them
Because we’re stronger, wiser, and better than we were before
But there’s nothing too hard from God
The Lord God will always see us through it all

The Storms of Life

Think of some of the storms of life which have invaded the life of yourself or of someoneyou know.

• The storm of illness – sudden or prolonged; • The storm of death – the death of a loved one,- a child, a partner; especially one notexpected to die ;• The storm of rejection- divorce, separation, abandonment; • The storm of unjust criticism; • The storm of emotional trauma – hatred, anger, resentment, bitterness; • The storm of physical loss – loss of home, loss of job, loss of money, loss of security; • The storm of accident, or some event which may change the course of our life in an instantof time. One thing I have discovered: Being a Christian, a follower of Jesus, does not exempt usfrom the trials of life

Finally, THE STORM IS OVER NOW!

No Justice, No Peace (A Poem Tribute To Trayvon Martin)

No Justice, No Peace

Written by Shawn Williams

The pain cuts deeper like a knife

Trayvon will always take his life

His spirit lives inside us

As long as he remember that we never giving up

As we put our hoodies on

As we remember Trayvon

I ask; “Lord, look at the people are trying so hard in this world today.”

The Lord replied; “Trayvon is now in Heaven, and he saw his name in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

The whole country saying with the biggest voice; “I AM TRAYVON MARTIN!”

Dedicated to the family of Trayvon Martin

“There were times when I thought I couldn’t last for long, but now I think I’m able to carry on. It’s been a long, a long time coming, But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will.”
